Our next port of call was Rome (The ship actually docks at Civitavecchia). We took a shore excursion to see the various sights but first we had a couple of hours to look around for ourselves. I had always heard that one of the main tourist attractions were the Spanish Steps so we went there. Here's a photo. Personally I don't see what the fuss is all about. The steps leading to the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster are just as impressive. Maybe it's the very expensive shops at the top of the steps which attracts the ladies!
