Manchester Velodrome July 2014

For my birthday in July 2014, Pat bought me a session at Manchester Velodrome. It was a great experience. The group I was in consisted of 15 riders and, like me, most of them had never ridden on a track before. Negotiating the banking on the track was quite an experience. The bank is at 42.5 degrees and it is therefore necessary to gain quite some speed before risking moving higher than the lowest levels. I had an hour on the track and was surprised at just how tiring it was. The velodrome itself is a wonderful facility and is used by the British Cycling Team indeed they had a session booked in after my own (maybe they thought they could get some tips from watching me first!!).
